Police Department Events
The Monroe Police Department believes in strong relationships of mutual trust between our staff and the Monroe community as this trust is critical to maintaining public safety and effective policing. We appreciate the opportunities to engage with community members at various city- and community-sponsored events.
If you follow @MonroeWAPolice on Facebook and Instagram or subscribe to Monroe This Week, you’ll learn more about these events.
Community Academy
Our Community Academy is an 11-week course that gives participants interactive insights to the workings of our Department. The Academy is held in the spring with a formal graduation ceremony.
National Night Out (Against Crime)
We participate in this annual event sponsored by the Monroe Rotary Club which is held on the second Tuesday of August. This is a great way to meet our officers and other personnel who support traffic safety, SWAT, drone operations, K-9 and more.
Monroe Farmers Market
Throughout the Monroe Farmers Market season (May-September), we have an information booth to showcase some of our key programs like K-9, SWAT, and drone operation. Visit ChooseMonroe.com for market information.
Shop with a Cop
We participate in “Shop with a Cop” each December with an officer being paired with a child in the community to holiday shop at local retailers. This event is sponsored by the Monroe Police Officer’s Association (MPOA), a non-profit entity (not associated with the City).
Battle of the Badges
As part of the Kaci Edelbrock Memorial 5K (sponsored by the Big Heart Big Smile Foundation), we participate in the Battle of the Badges, a friendly sports game against the Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue. This event is typically held in May.
