Chain Lake Road Improvements

Chain Lake Road plays an important role in the City of Monroe's roadway network. The road serves unincorporated Snohomish County and is the main corridor that residential properties in north Monroe use to access commercial shopping an state highways.

The City's 2014 Comprehensive Plan Update identified Chain Lake Road as needing a center turn lane to accommodate future growth in the area. The City is currently updating its Comprehensive Plan, which will include revisiting this corridor and determining what improvements are needed based on existing and predicted future growth.

Current Projects

The City initiated a roadway improvement capital project along the Chain Lake Road corridor to complete the shared use path along the westerly side of the road. When finished, the path will complete the extension to the Monroe's northern city limits and provide residents with non-motorized options for getting to and from the commercial shopping centers of Monroe. For more information on this capital project, please visit the Chain Lake Road Shared Path Extension project webpage here.
