The City of Monroe Public Works Department is preparing to replace approximately 6,100 linear feet of existing 16-inch asbestos cement water transmission main with a new high-density polyethylene (HDPE) transmission line. The water main is within an existing 60-foot pipeline and utility easement that traverse areas with steep slopes, wetlands, and a Type F stream (Cripple Creek). The project requires the removal of 36 trees. Work will generally occur along the south side of the existing easement. Construction is anticipated to begin in March 2026 and be complete by November 2026.
