Special Events

A special event is any kind of activity that is out of the norm for activities typically occurring in the area where the event is proposed to take place, or an activity that may impact public places, areas or facilities. Events involving 30 or fewer people are usually exempt from this permitting process, but please check with the City to be certain.

If you are hosting an event in whole or part on public property you may need a special event permit. The City of Monroe issues event permits for Special Events (parade, fun run / walk, etc.) and Block Parties. A Special Event Application (PDF) must be turned in 60-90 days prior to your event date.
