Online Permits
In late March 2026, we will launch a new online permitting software program designed to modernize and streamline the application process for building, land use, public works and fire permits. Key features of our new system called Land Management by the Davenport Group (LAMA for short) include:
- Paperless application process: Applicants can submit permit requests and supplemental documents directly through an online secure portal.
- Real-time status check: Applicants will be able to track the status of their applications and inspections via a laptop or mobile device
- Online inspection requests: Applicants can request inspection requests through the portal.
- Online payment options: Applicants can pay via a debit/credit card (fees apply) or by a “digital check.”
- Digital plan review and routing: City staff will conduct review of submitted plans and documents and upload documents to the portal for other staff and the applicant to view.
- Permit Reports: The system creates a digital record of past permits making it easy for applicants and staff to find and reference previous projects.
Impacts of system launch
Our target launch date is Monday, March 23, 2026, and there are a few major steps that need to be taken to be ready for public use. Permit applications ready for submittal now should be submitted by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. For the system to be ready, we will not accept permit applications on Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20, 2026. We thank our applicants in advance, as with any launch of a new software system, there could be unforeseen.
Secure permitting portal
The vendor has created a secure portal where applicants will need to create a registered account. The link to the portal will be posted here on Monday, March 23, 2026.
