[ARCHIVED] Employee Tied Up, Buzz Inn Robbed

MONROE – February 22, 2014 at 5:18 am: Monroe Police Officers were dispatched to a robbery at the Buzz Inn Steakhouse in the 18900 block of SR 2 in Monroe early this morning. When officers arrived they discovered that an employee had been zipped tied and was found in the hallway outside the men’s restroom.

The victim, a sixty-nine year old male from Monroe said that he was cleaning the restaurant when he was confronted by a man with a gun. He described the male suspect as 5’6”, wearing a yellow and black coat with a black mask over his face. He also had a small handgun. The victim explained that the suspect tied him up with zip ties and placed him in the men’s restroom. He managed to get out of the restroom into the hallway and laid there for about an hour before the morning employees found him just after 5:00 am and called 911. The morning employees also found the door to the office and safe open with an undetermined amount of money missing. The victim had some small cuts on his hands due to the zip ties.
