[ARCHIVED] House Fire on 154th St SE, Monroe WA

MONROE – July 10, 2013: At 4:53 pm, a 911 call came in reporting a house fire in the 17500 block of 154th St SE, Monroe. Monroe District #3 firefighters responded to the scene where smoke was coming from the one story residence. Firefighters from District 7 also responded to assist. A 26 year old female who was visiting from out of state was at the home when the fire started. She noticed smoke coming from a clothes dryer which erupted when she opened the dryer door. The female ran from the home and neighbors called 911. The fire was contained to the residence and a large cedar tree that was near the house. The resident, a 36 year old male, was not home at the time of the fire. The structure has significant damage and the Red Cross was called to assist the displaced resident. The female was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
