Al Borlin Park and the South Parking lot at Skykomish River Park have been closed due to potential flooding. Dog Owners can still access Wiggly Field by walking through Sky River Park. These areas will re-open once it is safe to do so and clear of debris (if applicable).

Lewis Street Park is also closed Monday, December 8 in preparation for high wind.

Flooding Notification

Currently (12/06/2025 01:45), the Skykomish River at Gold Bar is forecast to crest at 18.03 feet at approximately 04:00, Tuesday, December 9, 2025 then recede to 13.28 and then crest again at 15.48 feet at approximately 10:00, Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

This rise in water level may cause flooding that requires the closure of Al Borlin Park at approximately 07:00 on Monday, December 8, 2025.

This rise in water level may cause flooding that requires the closure of the Sky River Park lower parking lot at approximately 19:00 on Monday, December 8, 2025.

This rise in water level may require pumping stormwater over the dike located on 177th Avenue south of Main Street the closure of Al Borlin Park at approximately 04:00 on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

The actual timing and amount of flooding is uncertain at this time.

This notification is provided in accordance with the City of Monroe Emergency Management Standard Operating Guideline: Flood Response.

Wind Advisory

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS MORNING TO 10 PM

PST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Washington.

* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 10 PM PST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree

  limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high

profile vehicles. Secure outdoor objects.

While there is still a Wind Advisory in the general area the spot forecast for Monroe does NOT show any gusts over 20 MPH.
