Join the Monroe School District, Monroe Police Department, and Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue for National Walk & Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 9th, at 8:30 a.m. Students will meet at one of the locations listed below and then walk together to school with their families, police officers, firefighters, and school district employees.
Locations are:
Corner of 156th Street SE and 165th Avenue near Lords Lake
Corner of 171st Ave SE and 154th Street SE (southeast side)
Corner of 166th Avenue SE and 154th Street SE
Park located at the corner of Van and Wales streets (Fryelands Park)
Corner of North Kelsey Street and West Main Street
Corner of West Columbia and Dickinson streets
At the event, our public safety partners will share tips with students on walking safely-using streets with sidewalks or wide shoulders and crosswalks with pedestrian lights or crossing guards. We encourage families to join the walk to get familiar with their child's route to school. If a student is ever late coming home, knowing this route can be helpful in locating them quickly.
