Heat Advisory in effect through Monday night: Tips for staying cool and informed
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory in effect today (July 5, 2024) through Monday (July 8, 2024) at 10 p.m. Temperatures are to reach in the upper 80s and 90s. These temperatures pose a moderate to major risk of heat-related illnesses, especially for those who are heat sensitive and those without cooling or adequate hydration.

Safety Tips:
- Never leave children, older adults, or pets in a vehicle under any circumstances.

- Drink plenty of fluids; encourage others to do the same.
- Stay out of the heat or limit your outdoor activities.
- Wear sunscreen if you are outside.
- Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing.
- Be safe near/in water (pool, river, lake).
