[ARCHIVED] Citizen-Initiated Comprehensive Plan Amendment Requests

Comp Plan Amendments Now Being Accepted

The City of Monroe is now accepting “Citizen-Initiated” requests to amend the City of Monroe 2015-2035 Comprehensive Plan! This is another great opportunity for citizens to have a say in the future of their city. The deadline for submitting Comprehensive Plan amendment requests for this amendment cycle is 5:00 p.m., Friday, July 31, 2023.
The comprehensive plan evaluates growth and land use changes for the city on a 20 year planning horizon and aims to illustrate how Monroe, as a community in transition, is changing from a small rural town into a city of regional significance.
It's important to note that this will be the only opportunity for plan amendment requests to be considered during the 2023-2024 Comprehensive Plan amendment cycle.
For more information about the process, please contact Amy Bright, Planner, at (360) 863-4533 or abright@monroewa.gov. Don't miss out on this chance to make a difference in your community's future!
