[ARCHIVED] American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Applications Open

ARPA Applications Now Open

The City of Monroe is accepting applications from local businesses, not-for-profit service providers, and other agencies for projects and improvements that will benefit the Monroe community. Funding is available through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), which provides federal relief funds to states, counties, cities, and towns.

On June 17, 2021, the City Council approved a plan to distribute ARPA funding based on community input. Under the approved plan, the City has formed three committees consisting of board and commission members to review applications. Committees will review applications within their area of expertise.

Mayor Geoffrey Thomas proposed, and the City Council approved, three priorities into which ARPA projects will categorized:

  1. Supporting Recovery
  2. Reconnecting Community
  3. Building Resiliency

Applications are due no later than 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21.

Approximately $345,000 has been allocated to each category in this current round. Future funding rounds will be announced in 2022.

Please see the City's ARPA Funds page for additional details, eligibility criteria, and application process.
