The City of Monroe is announcing a new grant as part of the Monroe CARES grant program. The Community Relief Grant will make available $50,000 for Monroe nonprofit organizations. Grants are anticipated to be awarded between $5,000 and $10,000.
The Community Relief Grant will give priority to nonprofit organizations serving Monroe’s most vulnerable residents. Grant funds must cover costs associated with the impact of COVID-19, such as rent, utilities, payroll, business licensing fees, and program continuation and expansion. “Our highest priority right now is getting our entire community up and running as quickly as possible and as safely as possible,” said Mayor Geoffrey Thomas. "Providing assistance for local non-profit agencies to provide basic services and meet the increased needs of Monroe’s most vulnerable residents will help get us there."
