The Public is invited to attend an Open House to view exciting play equipment replacement options for Lewis Street Park. Monroe’s oldest city park is set within a stand of mature evergreen trees. This poses a challenge: to work within the existing play area boundaries so as not to disturb fragile tree root zones, yet ensure that new replacement equipment meets safety zone space requirements. Are you up to the challenge?
We will present available options for the spaces that offer more challenging and inviting features inclusive of a wider range of users than is currently offered. All ideas are welcome, and the conversations will add detail and nuance to the project that will help create the final design.
This exciting new parks capital improvement project is funded for this year and anticipated to be completed this summer!
