[ARCHIVED] Lane Shifting on Main Street!

A lane shift is in effect on Old Owen Road and E. Main Street at the intersection with Highway 2. Drivers are cautioned to observe and follow the new lane alignments, or choose alternate routes to reach their destination. As with any construction zone, drivers should expect some additional delays.
This lane shift will be in effect until the project is completed next year, and will closely resemble the final road channelization plan at this intersection.
Once the project is completed, a new right turn lane will be available for drivers on Main Street who want to turn east onto US2. This will help reduce traffic congestion on E. Main Street that frequently occurs during the afternoon/evening commute hours.

Lane Shift Details
• For eastbound lanes on Main Street, the original through/right turn lane is taken for construction work. As such, both eastbound lanes (left turn and the through/right turn) are shifted to the north. This shift requires one of the two westbound lanes to be converted to the new eastbound, left turn lane.
• For westbound lanes on Main Street, one of the two westbound lanes on Main Street has been eliminated at the intersection. Vehicles traveling onto westbound Main Street can only enter the far right lane.
