[ARCHIVED] Drowning Victim Dies

MONROE – August 29, 2012: A14-year-old Everett boy has died after a drowning incident that occurred at Lake Tye in Monroe on August 26, 2012. The King County Medical examiner has confirmed his death which occurred just after midnight today, August 29, 2012.

The fourteen year old had come to Lake Tye as part of a church group outing. Witnesses say the boy was one of a group of children that had gone into the water. Friends swimming with the victim said they saw him wave and then lost sight of him. An immediate search for the boy began. Fire and police were dispatched to the scene. A firefighter located him and pulled him to shore where CPR was initiated. The victim was transported to Valley General Hospital in Monroe, and later transported to Children’s Hospital in Seattle.
