[ARCHIVED] Bank Robbery - 7/30/12

MONROE – July 30, 2012 at 10:27 am: Officers were dispatched to a robbery call at the WA Federal Savings bank in the 19200 block of SR 2, Monroe. Officers arrived within minutes of the call. Three employees that were in the bank at the time of the robbery explained that a masked man had entered the bank, pointed a hand gun at them and demanded money. The bank employee provided an unspecified amount of cash to the suspect. No one was hurt during this incident.

The suspect is described as a male, 5’4 – 5’7, thin build. He was wearing a camouflage long sleeved sweatshirt and blue jeans. He spoke with an unknown accent. The suspect fled the area on a bike. A police K-9 was deployed to the scene, the suspect was not located. The FBI has been notified of the incident. The Monroe Police Department is continuing to investigate.
