[ARCHIVED] Monroe Municipal Code Restrictions on Fireworks

fireworks

The Monroe Municipal Code’s restrictions on times for discharge of fireworks are summarized as follows:

1. Fireworks can only be used between 9AM and Midnight on July 4th.

2. No fireworks of any kind are allowed to be used in any park or parking area of a park.

Because of dry weather conditions, some residents have asked the City to ban fireworks for this 4th of July. The State's fireworks laws require a 12-month wait period before changes cities make to their fireworks laws can become effective. To our knowledge, only the State could ban fireworks for this 4th of July.

As we celebrate the 4th of July this year, we are asking people to please be considerate of their neighbors, clean up after using fireworks, and be especially careful this year.
