Earlier today, Mayor Thomas issued a proclamation reaffirming the City of Monroe’s commitment to protecting the freedoms of speech and assembly. The proclamation calls upon all of us in the community to serve as a model for the city’s vision statement, Imagine Monroe, and continue to engage in peaceful dialogue even when finding common ground is difficult. Please join us this Saturday at 6 p.m. at Lake Tye Park to reflect on the kindness, compassion, and connection that makes our community strong.
