MONROE – Monday, August 10, 2020: At 5:41 am, officers responded to an alarm at the Cigar Q shop in the 19000 block of Lenton Pl SE, Monroe. Upon arrival, officers found a fractured window and a brick that was left at the scene. There were no suspects in the area.
At 5:56 am, another 911 call came in reporting a burglary at the 7 Star Smoke Shop in the 300 block of E Main Street. The caller said a male had smashed a window and entered the business. A second report said they saw a male with a mask over his face leave the scene heading eastbound on Railroad Ave carrying a large garbage bag.
K-9 Tango and handler responded to the scene and tracked to Woods Creek where the suspect was attempting to hide in the creek. K-9 Tango made contact with the male who was then taken into custody. A pair of jeans, sweatshirt and empty black garbage bag was located nearby. Officers were unable to locate a second male that was believed to be an accomplice in the burglary. The value of the cigarettes taken was approximately $800, the merchandise has not yet been found.
Makki Al Aboudy, age 40, of Monroe was transported to EvergreenHealth for treatment of minor injuries sustained from blackberry bushes and the K-9 contact. He was then transported to the Snohomish County Jail for booking on multiple burglary charges.
This case remains under investigation.
