Sidewalk ramp construction is in process on 153rd Street and associated side streets. Main Street sidewalk repairs will begin July 24th at various locations between Kelsey Street and 179th Avenue SE, and along both sides of Main Street. The sidewalk will be closed where the contractor is actively working, so if walking please plan to use alternate sidewalk routes to avoid these closures. Once the old ramps are removed, the contractor will provide temporary walking paths with cones and caution tape for access. The temporary condition will remain until the contractor begins forming and pouring new concrete. This will require sidewalk closures once more.
Please expect alternating lane closures with flaggers and advance signage to direct vehicles through the work zones. Residents may experience some inconvenience, including noise and delays. Emergency vehicle access will be provided, and arrangements will be made for garbage pickup and mail delivery whenever / wherever possible.
Looking forward, Main Street will have sidewalk construction or asphalt paving activity between now and the middle of August. Once complete, this segment of Main Street will have a new street surface and 23 new sidewalk ramps. Thank you in advance for your patience as we work hard to preserve our streets!
We will continue to post construction updates, but you can always refer to the project website for updated information.
