Vehicle one (Subaru) was southbound on N. Madison St. at a high rate of speed approaching W. Main Street. Vehicle two (Honda) was eastbound on W. Main St. approaching N. Madison St. Vehicle one went through the stop sign on W. Main St., striking vehicle two with a significant amount of force to spin the vehicle 180 degrees coming to rest approximately 50 feet from the point of impact. Vehicle one continued through the intersection colliding with three parked vehicles in a used car parking lot. The driver of the Subaru left the vehicle and ran from the scene.
SCSO K9 tracked the driver of vehicle one to the Lewis Street boat launch where he was taken into custody. Shortly after the collision, the Subaru Legacy was reported as stolen from a residence at 179th Ave. SE and Grand St. in Monroe.
Jarid J. Castillo, age 28 of Monroe was treated at EvergreenHealth of Monroe and taken to the Snohomish County Jail for booking on vehicular assault and possession of stolen vehicle.
