[ARCHIVED] Steam Stack Ribbon Cutting

WHAT: Celebration of the completion of the painting of the iconic original Carnation Steam Stack, built in the early 1920’s. http://www.monroehistoricalsociety.org/stories/the-condensery-smokestack/

Mt. Index design is the WINNER, with over 1000 votes. A total of 1752 participants were involved in the public vote.

WHERE: Original Carnation Steam Stack, Monroe WA, Grocery Outlet Parking Lot adjacent to Highway 2, Monroe, Washington.

WHEN: October 16th, 4:30 pm

WHY: A fabulous way to great visitors to Monroe and those driving along the Cascade Loop Scenic Byway, by facilitating a structure which holds great historical significance to our community. Art creates discussion, which creates thought, which creates interest…so on and so forth. The base of the stack will eventually have historic photos and documentation about the history of the stack, the Carnation plant and Monroe.

Jose Cardona the painter of the Stack, 360.333.0034.
Esther Mclatchy the artist, 360. 424.7758.
The great grandson of the original owner of the Carnation Plant.
Fred Wolfstone or his representative, owner of the Monroe Shopping Plaza.
Monroe Chamber of Commerce and Board Members.
Many other locals and elected officials will be on hand to answer questions and take comment.
