COVID-19 Response and Information


Read the City’s response to the coronavirus and COVID-19; learn about resources from other local, regional, and national agencies; and see suggestions for reducing the risk of exposure here.

In order to increase employee safety the Mayor is closing public access to city facilities starting Monday, March 23, until further notice.  There will be signs at the front door directing people to use the drop box for payments, and to access services by phone or online.

Municipal Court

In accordance with Governor Inslee’s Proclamation 20-28 issued March 24 regarding Public Disclosure Requests:

  • All in-person records request submission/records inspection/copying of records has been suspended.
  • All currently scheduled inspection appointments will be cancelled or postponed.
  • Electronic production of records is strongly encouraged; and staff will work with requestors accordingly.

Payment for fees related to records requests can be made by check or money order either by mail or drop box at Monroe City Hall. If requestors do not have the ability to pay by check/money order, please contact Police Records (email:; phone: 360-794-6300) to make arrangements for payment by credit card.

  • These guidelines are in place through May 31, 2020.

**Fingerprinting and Passport Services Temporarily Suspended**

The City of Monroe will not be performing any fingerprinting or passport services at this time.  We will be evaluating these services on a weekly basis. Please check the City’s website and Facebook page for updates.

We are asking all citizens who need to make payments to Monroe City Hall, the Police Department, or the Monroe Municipal Court, to please make them by mail or over the telephone.  Service charges associated with telephone payments will be waived until further notice.  Utility and permit payments can be made on the City’s website. 

Need non-emergent assistance?

To make contact with the City for general business, we are asking all citizens to please stay home and make contact with the City departments via telephone during business hours.  Our numbers are:  City Hall (360)794-7400   Police Department (360)794-6300   Municipal Court (360)863-4548

For police or medical emergencies, continue to call 9-1-1.  If you need to make a non-emergency police report or to speak to an officer, please call 425-407-3999.   

Concealed Pistol Licenses (CPL)

  • First-time CPL applications will not be accepted at this time.
  • CPL renewal can be submitted via mail.  Please mail your completed application (CPL), a copy of your driver’s license, and a check for payment to the Monroe Police Department, 818 W. Main St, Monroe, WA 98272.  The fee is $32 for a renewal, $42 for a late renewal, and $3.75 extra for lamination.
  • CPL applications may be sent online through the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office but keep in mind they are overburdened since many agencies are not currently processing CPLs..

**Servicios de huella dactilar y pasaportes temporalmente suspendidos**

La ciudad de Monroe no realizara servicios de huellas dactilares o pasaportes en este momento.  Estaremos evaluando estos servicios semanalmente. Por favor consulte las actualizaciones en el sitio web de la ciudad y la página de Facebook.

Les pedimos a todos los ciudadanos que necesiten realizar pagos al Ayuntamiento de Monroe, al Departamento de Policía o al Tribunal Municipal de Monroe, que los hagan por correo o por teléfono. El cargo por servicio asociado con los pagos por teléfono no se aplicara hasta nuevo aviso. Pagos de utilidades y permisos se pueden hacer en el sitio web de la ciudad.
