K-9 Lexi & Officer Nathan Erdmann
Lexi is a purebred Labrador Retriever dog. She enjoys finding drugs and playing fetch.

Lexi is Officer Erdmann’s first canine, and has several finds and seizures to her credit. Lexi and Officer Erdmann attended training and received certification through the Pacific Northwest Police Detection Dog Association.

Officer Erdmann has been with the Monroe Police Department since 2000 and is a field training officer, and a member of the Monroe Police Honor Guard.

K-9 Nuke & Officer Jason Southard
Nuke is a purebred German Shepherd. Nuke joined the Monroe Police Department in January 2014 at the age of two.  Nuke trained with Officer Jason Southard for over 400 hours at the Seattle Police K-9 Unit before being certified as a Patrol K-9 Team by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission.  Nuke's primary duties are tracking and apprehending criminals, master protection, evidence location, and of course, visiting with the children of Monroe through demonstrations. 

Officer Southard has been with the Monroe Police Department since 1996.  He currently serves as a field training officer, firearms instructor, and was a former member of the Special Emergency Response Team.  Officer Southard has previously worked with the K-9 unit and has enjoyed his time so far with Nuke.
