I was elected to Council in 2019, with my term ending at the end of 2023.
Before Council, I served on the Planning Commission for a couple years, as well as the Economic Development Advisory Board. Out in the community, I have served on the Rotary, Monroe Lions Club, Monroe Community Senior Center Board, and the Evergreen Health Foundation Board.
My family has been in Monroe since 1908, when my great-great grandfather came here as a young man. We have generations of Bearcats in our family… Go ‘Cats!
My professional background mainly consists of retail. I manage our family bookstore here in town, which was opened in 1980. Currently that business encompasses my coffee roasting and retail shop, as well. So if you ask me about my hobbies and passions, they include books, coffee, and time spent with friends. I also recently began what I generously call “running”, but is actually just a quick putting up and down of my feet!
I am very thankful to be able to serve in a capacity I enjoy here in my hometown. I encourage all Monrovians to get involved at some point in our community. We need all of you, and there is nothing like civic service to join us all together. To drive by a park or down a street and say, “I helped there” brings us together and reminds us that we are where we belong.
