Chain Lake Detour
Construction will being this month on Chain Lake Road. The work involves installing a new sewer main along Chain Lake Road, beginning just north of Country Crescent Boulevard and ending near the first road curve to the west. This work will be done in two phases, each requiring the road to be closed due to the complexity of the work and keeping a safe construction zone.
UPDATE: The contractor has rescheduled the second week of full road closure. See below for more information.
There are two weeks where Chain Lake Road will be closed to thru traffic (only local and emergency access allowed). The second week time frame has changed to now be:
May 15th – May 20th 8:30a.m. – 4:30p.m.
June 26th – July 1st 8:30a.m. – 4:30p.m.
July 10th - July 15th 8:30a.m. - 4:30p.m.
Additionally, work will be performed along Chain Lake Road throughout the coming months and at times construction will be adjacent to Chain Lake Road. When that occurs, the contractor will schedule traffic control to isolate traffic to one lane, with alternating traffic flows being controlled by flaggers. Please be prepared for short delays, and perhaps consider using alternate routes to get to and from downtown.
The detour includes using Country Crescent Boulevard, Woods Creek Road, Ingraham Road and Brown Road to get around the closure. The suggested detour route is the same for both northbound and southbound Chain Lake Road users. A map of the route will be posted soon.
We encourage Chain Lake Road users that will be impacted by this closure to plan ahead and allow more time to your morning and afternoon commutes. Thank you for your patience as the City’s utilities are expanded to meet the growth of our community!
