Garbage & Recycling
The city contracts with Republic Services for garbage, recycling, and yard waste services. Republic Services collects on all holidays except New Years Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. A Republic Services - Monroe webpage is maintained by the collection company to keep customers up to date regarding schedule changes and inclement weather updates. The webpage also contains solid waste and recycling resources, tips, and information.

Annual Spring Cleanup event - Saturday, May 13th
This years annual Spring Cleanup Event will be held at the Evergreen Speedway from 8 a.m. to noon. This event is free to Monroe residents; mailers will be sent out in advance of the event and should be brought along as proof of residency. The following materials are accepted:
- Regular household trash (must be bagged)
- Furniture
- Scrap metal
Customers will be able to unload their material into containers provided at the event. Entry to the event will be off of 179th Avenue SE.

Reminder to address your totes
Please mark your address on your garbage cans and Allied totes for recycling and yard / organic waste. This can be done with spray-paint, markers, or any manner as long as the collection driver can read it. This is a requirement for service at all multifamily complexes and duplexes.
